A Journey to the Heart of BERNINA – Visiting the BERNINA Factory in Steckborn, Switzerland**
Hello, sewing enthusiasts! My name is Richard Borget, and together with my brother and partner, Rod, we run Dave’s BERNINA, a family-driven passion for quality sewing machines and excellent customer service. This September, my wife and I were fortunate to embark on an unforgettable journey to Steckborn, Switzerland, to visit the renowned BERNINA factory.

Our family has a history with this incredible company – my parents and grandparents visited this factory about sixty years ago and returned with beautiful memories of both the factory and the Swiss countryside.

Stepping into the same place with my wife some 60 years after they did was a surreal experience. It’s amazing to see how much has changed in BERNINA’s technology yet how the company’s commitment to quality remains unwavering.

This trip wasn’t just about visiting a factory – it was about witnessing the precision and passion that go into every machine we bring back to our customers. Standing there and watching the manufacturing process of the Bernina 990, their new top-of-the-line model, was genuinely awe-inspiring. Each machine is meticulously crafted, with a perfect blend of technology and human touch. To see firsthand how each piece comes together to form the quality we all know and trust reinforced my pride in our work at Dave’s BERNINA.

The landscape around Steckborn is just as stunning as everyone says, and my wife and I took time to explore the area, savoring the serene beauty of Lake Constance and the charming towns nearby. The combination of nature’s beauty and Swiss precision truly set the backdrop for a memorable journey.

Returning home, I feel more inspired than ever to share the excellence of BERNINA with our community. Every machine, every stitch, and every visit to the factory reminds us of the legacy BERNINA has built and continues to uphold. We’re so excited to bring a little bit of Switzerland back with us to our customers at Dave’s BERNINA.

Thank you for letting me share this special experience with you. Here’s to the beauty of craftsmanship, heritage, and the art of sewing!
