With the holidays ramping up, Dave’s BERNINA is focused on helping our quilting and sewing community get ready for the high season for gift-making and giving.
If you’re struggling with your gift list, we highly encourage you look over the class calendars for Dave’s Bernina – Provo and Dave’s Bernina – St. George. We still have openings in classes like:
Wise Men Wall Hanger – Dec 2

Work on a beautiful machine embroidery design for the perfect Christmas decor for yourself or a loved one.
Harry Potter Quilt – Dec 4

Learn the magic of using a panel and creating blocks with strip quilting — a simple technique that uses long fabric strips sewn together. We will learn how to use a Stripology Ruler.
In addition, we always host our communal Sew Whatever sessions at both St. George and Provo. These sessions are great for hunkering down and working together to finish projects in an encouraging, communal setting. See upcoming Provo Sew Whatever sessions and St. George Sew Whatever sessions.
Dave’s BERNINA is also hosting two special events in December that we hope to see our sewists and quilters attend.
The first, our Christmas Open House, is designed to educate, delight, and create opportunities for easy, last-minute holiday quilting and sewing. The second, our BERNINA Gives Back event, is designed to encourage our community to focus on quilting and sewing for charity. More details below!
Christmas Open House – Dec 6

Dave’s BERNINA’s Christmas Open House is one of our favorite events of the season!
Free to everyone in the community, Christmas Open House starts at 9:00 am on December 6 and runs until 5:00 pm. Get ready for a whimsical day filled with the holiday spirit!
We’re hosting mini product demonstrations, guiding sewists and quilters through “Make ‘n’ Takes” so that everyone leaves with a lovely, handmade gift for themselves or a loved one, and serving sweet treats and refreshments. We can’t wait to see everyone there!
BERNINA Gives BACK – Dec 11

BERNINA Gives Back has sold out, but interested sewists and quilters can still participate! And we hope they will.
The event gathers our community for an evening of sewing and quilting pillowcases and zippered pouches for foster children in Utah Foster Care a non-profit organization that offers assistance to foster families and chidlren.
Participants in the event will bring their sewing machines and basic sewing kits to work on creating pillowcases and zippered pouches during the event, but we’re also accepting donations and supplies from our community.
Below, you’ll find several free patterns for pillowcases and zippered pouches. Click on the titles or images to visit the tutorial pages. We hope they inspire you to grab some fabric from your stash and whip up some pieces for Utah Foster Care this season. You can drop off your donated items directly with Dave’s BERNINA. We’ll take care of the rest!
